The uncomparable Sue Laking has been expressing herself through her art for most of her life, and on Friday May 6th we will get a look into her world as she unveils her latest works in this exclusive show at the Nightcap Gallery inside the Neon Crab Tattoo shop.
The 'Handcuffed' art show features original works that are anything but restrained. The doors open at 4:00 where the artist herself will be on hand to discuss her insights into her work, and the opening night of this show will run until 10:00pm, so don't miss out on what is sure to be an incredible experience to view and speak with the one and only Sue Laking.
For those that know her, Sue's unique brand of art has showcased in several prominent galleries throughout Ontario, most recently in the Arts Project in London, but never has such a large body of her work been on display completely uncensored. This is one show you do not want to miss. Sue is classically trained through Fanshawe College's Fine Arts Program. She has never confined herself to one style, medium, or message. Her art and techniques continue to evolve and grow as she, herself does. She is as comfortable with highly detailed surrealist pen-and-ink drawings like those in this show, as she is with equally detailed realism burned into wood, painted on a canvas, or as a wall mural. Sue infuses art into everything, being an accomplished tattoo artist and home stager, hoping to make life just a little bit better for those around her.
